COVID-19 Precautions Continue for Spring Semester

SU COVID-19 Testing Information

This page will be updated as information changes.    The dashboard below is updated (and dated) as new information is available, usually a few days after each testing date.

COVID-19 testing is an important part of SU’s ongoing health and safety measures. This dashboard reports results of SU-administered testing for the campus community. It was created by the Eastern Shore Regional GIS Cooperative at Salisbury University.

Please note: The positivity rate for Salisbury University is calculated weekly based on the number of people tested (Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center Methodology), which is different from the Maryland State methodology that bases the positivity rate on tests administered. To learn more please visit the Joint Explainer on Positivity Rate from the Maryland Department of Health and the Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center.

Testing Requirements

To maintain access to SU facilities through Sunday, February 28, all faculty and staff are required to complete an SU-administered COVID-19 test with a negative result every 30 days.

All students, faculty and staff are responsible for self-scheduling tests at salisbury.edu/covidtestingsignup. This is not automated.

New Testing Requirements for Students Beginning March 1

Beginning Monday, March 1, all SU students (including employees taking classes at SU) will be required to take an SU-administered COVID-19 rapid test with a negative result every week to maintain access to campus buildings. Students must complete their first test by Saturday, March 6. All testing will take place in the Great Hall of Holloway Hall. Sign-ups are available online.

The day and time a student signs up for during the week of March 1 will remain their testing day and time for the rest of the semester. Makeup times will be offered each Wednesday for those who miss their regularly scheduled tests on Saturday, Monday and Tuesday, and each Saturday and Sunday for those who miss their regularly scheduled tests on Wednesday, Thursdays and Fridays. To change a regularly scheduled appointment, or to sign up for a makeup test, email covidtesting@salisbury.edu

Also beginning March 1, students arriving for their tests more than 15 minutes in advance of their scheduled time will not be admitted into the testing area. Those arriving more than 15 minutes late will forfeit their appointment.

Students in isolation or quarantine due to a positive COVID-19 test or possible exposure will not need to test until they leave isolation or quarantine, and will receive additional instructions from Campus Health. Residential students without a negative result on file from an SU-administered COVID-19 test every seven days may be suspended from campus housing until an SU-administered COVID-19 test is taken with a negative result.

SU is unable to accept non-SU test results for students except when specifically requested by the University. Those who require accommodations at the testing site should email campushealth@salisbury.edu.

New Testing Requirements for Employees Beginning March 1

Beginning Monday, March 1, all SU employees regularly on campus more than two days per month (excluding those taking classes at SU; please see above) will be required to take an SU-administered COVID-19 rapid test with a negative result at least once every 14 days to maintain access to campus buildings. Tests should be scheduled at least 10 days apart.

Employees regularly on campus two days or fewer each month must take an SU-administered COVID-19 rapid test with a negative result at least once every 30 days to maintain access to campus buildings. These employees should email covidtesting@salisbury.edu to request an exemption to the 14-day requirement.

All employees must complete their first test by Sunday, March 14. Testing will take place in the Great Hall of Holloway Hall. Sign-ups are available online.

Also beginning March 1, employees arriving for their tests more than 15 minutes in advance of their scheduled time will not be admitted into the testing area. Those arriving more than 15 minutes late will forfeit their appointment and must reschedule online.

SU is unable to accept non-SU test results for employees. Those who require accommodations at the testing site should email campushealth@salisbury.edu.
