March 23 SU Community Members Self-Confined Following Possible COVID-19 Exposure

3/23/2020 5:36 p.m.

Members of the Campus Community,

We are working with local health departments to monitor members of the SU community who have been asked to self-confine for 14 days as a precaution following potential exposure to COVID-19. The University’s COVID-19 Task Force will continue to work with local and state officials to ensure proper communication to our campus community.

To preserve their privacy, identifying details on who has been tested or who has tested positively will not be released.

We know this is a challenging time for many of you. Given the spread of this virus, we believe we have taken important steps to slow its transmission in our community. Nearly all students have now left campus, and online classes will continue through the end of the semester. Many staff members also are teleworking, further reducing the number of people on campus. All events on campus are canceled, and SU buildings are closed to all but those with critical reasons to be there. Students who have been provided dates and times to move out of their residence halls should plan to arrive as scheduled and complete their move-out within the assigned window.

Any questions should be directed to StayInformed@salisbury.eduFor the most up-to-date information, including prevention steps and resources, please continue to visit SU’s COVID-19 webpage.
