COVID-19 Precautions Continue for Fall Semester

May 13 - SU Looks Ahead to Fall as Campus Buildings Remain Closed to the Public This Summer

5/13/2020 5:30 p.m.

Members of the Campus Community,

With today’s modification of Governor Hogan’s stay-at-home order, effective 5 p.m. Friday, Maryland will take the next step toward reopening while still providing guidance to limit the spread of COVID-19.

At this time, SU buildings remain closed to the public, and no activities will be held on campus this summer. Virtual summer classes and events are expected to continue as scheduled. Faculty and staff teleworking protocols also remain in place.

SU’s COVID-19 Task Force planning teams, in connection with the University System of Maryland, are considering best practices and scenarios for an anticipated reopening of the campus to students in the fall. Please continue to check your email, and monitor SU’s social media platforms and the COVID-19 webpage for future announcements.

As we reach the end of the spring semester, SU applauds its students, faculty and staff for working to adjust to the rapid and often unforeseen changes necessitated by the COVID-19 pandemic. While many of these adjustments were not easy, and some were more successful than others, the willingness and ability of the SU community to adapt to this “new normal” have been commendable.

Please enjoy your summer, and we will look forward to seeing many of you — in person — this fall.
