May 29 - Salisbury University Releases Return-to-Campus Overview

Dear Members of the SU Community,

Earlier today, University System of Maryland Chancellor Jay Perman announced that all USM institutions, including Salisbury University (SU), will welcome students back to campus this fall, with hybrid classes that include both in-person and online components.

At SU, the members of our COVID-19 Task Force and its Planning Teams have been working hard to identify needs and begin drafting a plan to make this happen. Today, we are pleased to be able to release our Return-to-Campus Overview, available at salisbury.edu/news/SU-Return-to-Campus-Overview.pdf.

This will serve as our roadmap for returning students, as well as many faculty and staff, to campus this fall. While there are still many challenges to be considered, we are confident that we will be able to begin the academic year with some sense of normalcy, albeit with many safety protocols in place. Of course, plans will continue to be flexible in the event of unforeseen circumstances as long as COVID-19 remains a possible threat.

President Charles Wight will address some facets of the new plan during the next virtual SU Town Hall on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at 5 p.m. A link will be available that afternoon at salisbury.edu/town-hall. (Viewers will need to refresh their browsers at 5 p.m. to start the broadcast.) It also will be livestreamed on the SU Facebook page, facebook.com/salisburyu, and recorded for those unable to view it live.
