July 9 - Updated COVID-19 Screening Locations for Salisbury University Employees on Campus

7/9/2020 4:15 p.m.

Dear Members of the Campus Community:

Beginning Monday, July 13, 2020 Salisbury University will expand its number of COVID-19 screening locations for employees on campus. New weekday screening times and locations are:

  • 6:30-8:30 a.m. – Avery Street Lot (drive-up, enter from West College Avenue, exit onto Avery Street)
  • 8:30-10 a.m. – Route 13 Parking Lots A and B (outside the Guerrieri Academic Commons)
  • 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m. – Wayne Street Parking Garage (drive-up, Wayne Street entrance/exit)
  • All other times – SU Police Department, East Campus Complex, Power Street (walk-up, ring buzzer at door)

In the event of inclement weather, all screenings from 6:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. will move to the Wayne Street Parking Garage. All weekend screenings will take place at the SU Police Department. A map of all screening locations is available at the link: SU Campus COVID-19 Screening Map (PDF).

Employees coming to campus must complete a daily COVID-19 screening before reporting to their regular worksites. In addition to temperature checks, employees will be required to answer a short list of questions regarding symptoms before swiping their Gull Cards or providing their employee ID numbers for clearance to proceed to work. All employees should have their Gull Cards ready and know their employee ID numbers before entering the screening line.

The safety measures are based on recommendations following guidance provided by the Maryland Department of Budget and Management for entry into state buildings. SU contractors are also required to complete a self-screening process before reporting to worksites on campus and to communicate daily with SU project managers. Those found to have symptoms of COVID-19 or fevers of 100.4 degrees or higher will be asked to not report for duty and to contact their supervisors and will be given instructions regarding self-confining and seeking medical care.

This is part of a phased plan for employees returning to campus. At this time, only those employees with approval on file with the Human Resources Office should report to campus and only as scheduled. While on campus employees should have their Gull Cards visibly displayed at all times and wear face masks as appropriate.

Beginning in August, SU expects to introduce an app that will provide employees coming to campus with the option to self-screen and report any COVID-19 symptoms digitally. Drive-up screenings will remain available for those without technology access. A campuswide announcement will be made once the app is available for download. Employees still will be required to complete a daily screening, either online or in person, before reporting to work.

Those with questions about these protocols, or about their critical/non-critical employee status, should contact their supervisors. Thank you for doing your part in helping keep our campus safe.
