Research

An archive contains many unique materials that would be difficult to replace if damaged or lost. Therefore, we do not allow materials to be checked out or loaned. Although items cannot be removed from the premises, we encourage research to be conducted with the collection.

Anyone can utilize the collection. You do not need to be an SU student or faculty member for access.

We encourage you to contact us in advance of your visit. By discussing your plans with us beforehand, we can confirm that pertinent records are here and available for research.

Because of the fragility and irreplaceability of many archival materials, restrictions for their protection are in place. To help preserve the materials, we store the records in acid-free folders within acid-free boxes that are placed in a special room with a consistent temperature and humidity. Some restrictions of use apply to the Perdue Archives and their use. See archivist for details.

While the majority (99%) of our collection came from the Perdue company, we are always looking to accept additional materials related to the history of Perdue. Do you have materials that you think should be part of the Perdue Archives? Newspaper clippings, photographs, correspondence, books, artifacts, video, audio, letters, diaries, and other materials are sought to preserve the history of Perdue.
