Grant Activities
The Center for Healthy Communities partners with university faculty, staff and community stakeholders to develop programs that positively impact our community. These grant-funded activities focus on workforce development grant activities, professional development, community education, and interprofessional education and practice activities.
The CHC assists throughout the proposal preparation process, acts as a liaison to the Sponsored Programs Office, provides pre- and post-award support and supervision of grant-funded personnel.
Through successful grant applications, the CHC has:
- Built a workforce of Opioid Navigator Community Health workers
- Provided behavioral health services in the comfort of a pediatrician’s office
- Enabled families with infants to participate in an at-home, early intervention parenting program to help caregivers nurture and respond sensitively to their infants
- Offered mental health consultation services to family and center-based childcare providers in early education settings
