Open Educational Resources @ SU

Open Educational Resources (OER) are freely accessible educational materials that anyone can use, modify, and share. Beyond textbooks, OER encompasses labs, simulations, and a variety of supplemental resources! Open Educational Resources at Salisbury University support equity and flexibility. They offer opportunities for systemic change in teaching and learning by engaging educators in innovative pedagogical approaches, while ensuring all students have access to materials that are affordable.

Research shows:

  • Textbook costs are a substantial barrier for most students.
  • Textbook costs are more of a barrier for historically underserved college students.
  • Textbook affordability is a redistributive justice issue.

Open Educational Resources (OER) offer a promising solution, potentially creating a more equitable college experience for all students.
