Adding/Changing Major, Minor, Catalog Year
All requests are made through GullNet by clicking on the “Academic Records” tile and selecting Academic Records Requests. Requests are subject to the approval of the department.
When changing an undergraduate major, a graduate program, or a track/concentration, the catalog year will automatically move forward to the current academic year. As such, the student will be required to complete all general education, major, and minor requirements as outlined in that year’s catalog.
If the student prefers to follow the curriculum required in their previous year’s catalog, they should first change their major. Once the changes are made and are reflected in GullNet, they should log back in and change the catalog year to a previous year in which they were enrolled.

Apostille Procedures
Foreign countries may require documents to be certified to be accepted in their country. An "Apostille" certifies the signature and the position of the official who has executed, issued, or certified a copy of a document.
The educational documents usually requested for certification are the diploma, official transcript and/or enrollment/graduation verification letter. The student is responsible for ordering/providing a copy of the document requiring authentication.
Certification should only be done if the organization receiving the document requires you to provide an Apostille. Please check with the country in which you will be working or studying to find out if they will require it.
Visit the Registrar’s webpage for Salisbury University’s Apostille Procedures for additional information.
-
Change of Address
Students can update their mailing address, phone numbers, and personal email addresses directly through their Student Center in GullNet, under the Campus Personal tile.
Changes to a student’s diploma mailing address need to be emailed to Registrar@salisbury.edu from the student’s secure SU student email address and include their student ID number.
-
Change of Personal Data
The Salisbury University Registrar's office attempts to ensure that the information it maintains is accurate and safeguarded from malice and/or fraud.
- Update Preferred Name
Salisbury University provides students the opportunity to use their preferred first name in records and communications (ex. Class Rosters) that do not require the use of their legal name. All preferred name requests are subject to approval. Requests to change a student's preferred name should be sent to registrar@salisbury.edu through the student's secure SU email. It needs to include the following information:- Student's SU ID Number
- Student's Preferred Name
- Update Legal Name, Legal Gender, Social Security Number or Birthdate
Requests to change a legal name, legal gender, social security number, or birthdate in GullNet are submitted online: Update to Personal Data. Except where changes are clearly the result of typographical errors, at least one of the following types of documentation will be required, and a copy will be kept on file with the Registrar's office indefinitely.
- Birth Certificate
- Driver's License
- Social Security Card
- Marriage Certificate
- Passport
- Other Government-Issued Identification
- Official Court Document
- Update Preferred Name
-
Replacement Diploma
Replacement diplomas may be purchased online for $50. They cannot be duplicated in previous styles and will be printed in the current style. They can be sent directly to the student or to another recipient with the student's authorization through Parchment.
Diplomas are typically mailed within four-six weeks after receipt of the request.
Note: The button above will take you off the Salisbury University website.

Requesting a Letter Certifying Enrollment or Degree
The Salisbury University Registrar's Office provides enrollment verification and/or academic certification information. Please note that third parties may only receive the verification/certification of information that the students provide. Federal Educational Right to Privacy Act (FERPA) legislation requires that specific course, grade point average, or other student records related information be released only upon the consent of the student.
Students can print a certification letter from their GullNet account, under the Academic Record tile, click on Request Enrollment Verification. It will list their dates of attendance, full-time status, degree earned, and when printed shows the school watermark.
If the student needs additional information included in the letter or needs SU to send a letter, the student can order one from the Registrar's Office Forms webpage, under Order My Records Forms.
Requests for Invitation Letters
Students wishing to invite a guest to visit the United States in order to attend their commencement activities may write their own letter of invitation. For a sample letter, see the Embassy/Invitation Letter Template.
Students may wish to also include a letter certifying their expected graduation date by following the instructions above to print a letter in GullNet or to request a letter on the Registrar’s Office Forms webpage.
-
Transcripts
If the student has attended SU in the past year, they can access their unofficial transcript in GullNet. Click on the compass icon in the upper right-hand corner. Click on Navigator > Self Service > Academic Records > View Unofficial Transcripts.
If it has been more than a year since the student has attended or if they need their official transcript, they can visit Salisbury University Transcripts to create an account with Parchment, our secure transcript vendor, and place an order.

Veteran Benefits Certification Request
Students must submit a Veteran Benefits Certification Request each semester they are enrolled and wish to use their benefits.
If you change your course enrollment after submitting your Veteran’s Benefits Certification Request, you must notify the Registrar's Office as soon as possible. Failure to report changes may affect your benefit payment and future eligibility.
