Gulls Go Green Energy-Saving Office Certification - Launching Fall ’26 semester, the Gulls Go Green Energy-Saving Office program decreases energy usage across campus by informing our community about the amount of energy certain devices use. The Energy-Saving Office Certification Scorecard identifies the average annual kilowatt usage of various electronics, appliances, and climate control devices found in office settings. Staff and faculty are challenged to limit their annual electrical usage by limiting the types and amounts of electrical devices in their office. A full list of certified Departments, faculty, and staff will be available early 2027!
SU Cycles Bike Share Program - Each year, after Spring Graduation, the SUPD collects any unclaimed/discarded bikes on campus. The SUPD holds these bikes for one year. If any bikes are still unclaimed after one year, the SUPD has the right to scrap metal recycle them. Instead of recycling the bikes, an undergraduate student proposed, through the Green Fund, repairing these bikes and giving them back to the community. The SU Cycles Bike Share Program launched in Spring ’25 and promotes adaptive reuse of materials, provides a service to the greater SU community, and reduces carbon emissions. Students who sign up for the program receive a FREE bike, helmet, and U-lock for an entire semester! Bikes are reserved on a first come, first served basis. Reserve your bike today by contacting Chris Homeister, Chief Sustainability Officer, at cshomeister@salisbury.edu.
