Our Student Workers

Over half of Dining Services workforce are students. Over 150 positions available each semester in on-campus Dining operations including The Commons, University Catering, national brands and satellite dining locations including Chick-fil-A, Hungry Minds Express, Chesapeake Coffee Roasters, Starbucks at Cool Beans Cafe, and Sammy’s Snack Shack at Sea Gull Stadium.

No experience necessary; you’ll receive hands-on training. Gain work experience, food safety, and customer service skills. Your academics come first! Scheduling is flexible to accommodate your personal class or extracurricular activities. Students may work as little as 8 up to 25 hours per week. Our work places are fast paced, but we also like to have fun while working!

The Commons

The Commons - Food service and support staff. Primary job duties include but are not limited to: customer interaction, stocking, cleaning, serving, cooking, and prepping. Must be able to work 15-20 hours a week. Looking for friendly, hardworking students who are willing to learn.

University Catering

University Catering - University Catering is unique in that we only work when we have events-there are no set hours. Primary job duties include but are not limited to serving customers, deliveries of food and beverages, and the gathering of equipment and supplies for future events and cleaning tasks. We work at a fast pace and go all around campus. The job is exciting because you are part of important campus and community events and each day is excitingly different. Chick-fil-A

Chick-fil-A - Chick-fil-A team members consistently share that their work group is their on-campus family. Known as a great, fun place to work, amazing food and the and best customer service in the industry, working at our restaurant is all about teamwork and leadership development.

Depending on the position, your duties may include cashiering, assembling orders, making shakes, food preparation, storeroom work and cleaning.

Hungry Minds Express

Hungry Minds Express – Provide routine assistance in the preparation and serving of quick service food grilled and fried favorites as well as subs, salads and quesadillas; set up and break down service lines; restocking and maintaining supplies; cashiering; Provide excellent customer service to the campus. This is our late-night destination too!

Chesapeake Coffee Roasters

Chesapeake Coffee Roasters - Students function as both a Barista and a Cashier. Primary job duties include: preparing specialty coffee drinks and smoothies, and maintaining the shop; stocking, cleaning, organizing and other tasks necessary to facilitate a successful operation.
