Works by Jessica Taber, BFA Painting, are showcased during the exhibit what remains.
Jessica Taber was born and raised in Chesapeake Beach, Maryland, and is currently a junior at Salisbury University, pursuing a BFA with a concentration in painting and a minor in psychology. She is a member of the Disability Resource Center’s honor society and works as a Registered Behavior Technician. After graduation, she hopes to pursue a career in art therapy, working with children with autism to help them develop strong foundations for the future.
Art has been an important part of Jessica’s life from an early age, although she did not initially consider it as a career path. Her work explores personal emotions, values, and individual struggles, drawing inspiration from her lived experiences and the expressive approaches of painterly artists such as Jenny Saville. Working primarily in oil on canvas, she embraces a painterly approach while also exploring elements of abstraction and surrealism.
Although her paintings are rooted in personal experiences, Jessica hopes viewers will discover their own connections and interpretations within her work. Through the emotional depth of her paintings, she seeks to create a sense of understanding, connection, and peace for those who may have experienced similar struggles.
