Health Insurance
Students are urged to carry health insurance coverage, but it is not a requirement. Salisbury University does not sponsor a school-based insurance program, nor does Student Health Services make recommendations for health plans or coverage.
We recognize that students and families have different needs based on health status, availability of private insurance, access to care in a home state or town, and other factors. The following resources may be helpful to you.
Plans vary according to their coverage, price, deductibles, and other variables pertinent to selecting an adequate plan. Students and parents are urged to check with their insurance companies and home states to become familiar with the laws regulating coverage.
There are also resources online. Parents and students are encouraged to research companies they are familiar with. Many have student plans or extensions of coverage if the student was previously insured under a family plan.
