SU Federal Service Scholarship

As part of our commitment to making higher education accessible and affordable, we offer a Federal Service Scholarship that may be applied to select graduate programs to provide financial assistance for individuals who have been impacted by federal workforce layoffs and changes to federal funding. With proximity to Washington, D.C., SU offers this scholarship to support former federal employees and contractors seeking to advance their careers via in-demand online and education programs. Other financial aid opportunities also exist.

The following online programs are eligible for the SU Federal Service Scholarship.

Students who enroll in an on-campus program (not online) and are from a neighboring state outside of Maryland may be eligible for the Good Neighbors Graduate Scholarship in addition to the SU Federal Service Scholarship. How to Apply

Applying to the Graduate School at SU is simple:

  1. Select Your Program: Explore our graduate programs and find your perfect fit.
  2. Complete Your Application: Applications are still being accepted!
  3. Submit Proof of Employment: Please provide documentation of your federal employment for 2025 (e.g., last pay stub) and proof of federal termination in 2025. Once you are admitted into your program, you will receive instructions from the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships on how to upload your documents through the Financial Aid Student Forms portal.
