Test Optional Policy

Effective Fall 2021, Salisbury University has expanded its test-optional policy to remove the 3.5 minimum GPA requirement. Therefore, any student is eligible to apply without SAT or ACT scores.

Q: If I apply test-optional, am I still able to submit SAT or ACT scores?
A: Yes, if you have taken the SAT or ACT, you are welcome to send us your official scores. We will also superscore the SAT to give you the best overall composite score.

Q: My school gave students Pass/Fail (Satisfactory or Unsatisfactory) grades for the third and fourth quarters due to COVID-19. How will SU evaluate my transcript?
A: All coursework from grades 9 to 11 will be taken into consideration. Besides your cumulative GPA, we look for rigor in your schedule and trends in grades. If you are looking to improve your GPA, you are encouraged to work hard in your senior year and submit your first-quarter senior grades.

Q: The transition to distance learning was difficult for me and it affected my performance. What should I do?
A: We understand that the transition to distance learning can be difficult for students. You are encouraged to work hard in your senior year and submit your first-quarter senior grades. Feel free to reach out to the admissions counselor for your area for application advice.

Q: Can I tour campus?
A: Campus tours are currently being scheduled. Please visit our website at to sign up for a tour. If you are unable to travel at this time, SU also offers a virtual tour, which is a great way to start learning more about the campus.

Q: Can I still be considered for merit scholarships without SAT or ACT scores?
