Sammy Makes Friends Wherever He Goes!
You can find Sammy at Open House, at Sea Gull Stadium and around campus. He loves to stop for a photo op!
Sammy Sea Gull has really learned how to spread his wings at Salisbury University, a powerhouse in NCAA Division III athletics. The Sea Gulls have won multiple field hockey and men’s and women’s lacrosse national championships in recent years. Sammy also never misses SU's Homecoming celebration and the Sea Gull Century bike tour.

While SU’s community-oriented events are always great fun, Sammy's heart is in SU athletics. Whether it’s cross country, field hockey, football, soccer or volleyball in the fall; over in the Maggs Center for basketball and swimming in the winter; or at the lacrosse field, track, tennis courts and baseball and softball diamonds in the spring, Sammy loves to cheer SU’s student-athletes on to victory. At home games, Sammy can be found hanging out with the cheerleaders or roaming the stands for hugs, high-fives, defense chants or pictures. Sammy shows great sportsmanship and loves to celebrate with the Sea Gull teams when they win a conference or national championship. Sammy also finds time to support the athletic teams when they host benefit games for cancer awareness or other special athletic milestones. You can find Sammy hanging out at the Guerrieri Student Union or checking out the freshest gear at the SU Bookstore. Sammy loves playing X-Box with the students in the Fireside Lounge and chowing down on his favorite food ... french fries! But Sammy is health conscious, so he tries to eat fruits and vegetables, too.
Sammy has been invited to many regional events such as trick-or-treat nights and areas parades, and also gets together with Sherman at Shorebirds Stadium and Harry the Hawk at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. Meeting Delmarva’s citizens brings joy to his little bird heart and he elicits smiles from the residents of Holly Center during his visits there. Sammy also always has time to give out high-fives and autographs and take pictures with little wee gulls. With his dedication to SU and his community, Sammy is a huge part of the Salisbury University campus.
