Take the Stage at Salisbury University

Dance Minor

The mission of the dance program reflects the University’s core values of excellence, student-centeredness, learning, community and civic engagement, and diversity. SU’s dance minor is designed for students who wish to become versatile, well-rounded artists. The program supports students training in multiple techniques, developing creative-thinking skills and preparing students for future careers in dance or related fields.

Why Choose a Dance Minor at Salisbury University?

Our program offers students opportunities to put their skills into practice in professional settings. The department provides a stimulating experience with our individualized, close-knit, program, offering specialized care and attention to each student. There are opportunities for students to incorporate dance into their academic studies with our program.

Accepted students, can perform with the SU Dance Company, which focuses on dance as a fine art and offers multiple experiences with professional choreographers and companies from around the country. Two main stage productions are presented annually.

Many students ask: Is a minor in dance worth it? What's special about SU's Dance Program is that students get real-world experience rehearsing contemporary, ballet, jazz, modern, hip-hop and musical theatre repertory choreographed by resident faculty, nationally renowned guest artists and selected students. They're ready to take the stage before they graduate and create the career of their dreams!

The Dance Program at SU gives students a broad range of technical training in ballet, contemporary dance, jazz, Pilates, dance pedagogy and choreography.
