Piano Duet Performance, Linda Cockey & Maryen Herrett, May 16
SALISBURY, MD--Linda Cockey and Maryen Herrett perform piano duets by Schubert, Liszt, Debussy and Rachmaninoff in Holloway Hall’s Great Hall at Salisbury State University on Sunday, May 16, at 7:30 p.m. The performance is free and open to the public.
Cockey, an associate professor of music and keyboard division coordinator at SSU, is well-known in Maryland for her numerous solo performances, as well as performances with the Salisbury Symphony Orchestra and at Longwood Gardens. She holds a Doctor of Musical Arts from the Catholic University of America where she was a student of Thomas Mastroianni, a Master of Arts from Temple University and an undergraduate degree from Lebanon Valley College.
Herrett is a member of the adjunct faculty at Salisbury State where she teaches applied piano and ear training. She has performed as both a solo and chamber music pianist in several concert series, including the Phillips Collection. She served as staff pianist for the National Symphony and has soloed with the Arlington, Virginia Symphony. She holds a Master of Arts in music from the University of Maryland College Park, where she also did course work toward a doctorate in piano. Currently, she maintains a private studio in Whitehaven, MD.
