SU Presents 'Songs From Around the World' Thursday, March 3
SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University’s departments of Music and Modern Languages and Intercultural Studies celebrate National Foreign Language Week with the concert “Songs From Around the World” 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 3 in the Great Hall of Holloway Hall.
Presented by award-winning vocal students of SU music faculty John Wesley Wright, the program includes songs from Broadway to opera with a diversity of languages represented including German, French, Italian, Spanish, English and Latin.
Some of the featured students will compete in the National Association of Teachers of Singing Student Auditions Saturday, March 12, at Howard Community College. The auditions are one of the organization’s most widely recognized events.
The public is invited to the SU concert. A $5-$10 donation at the door is requested to offset travel expenses for the competition.
