SU's PRESTO Plus Offers Adult Piano Lessons
SALISBURY, MD---Know someone who would like to play the piano, but is afraid to fail? Or is too shy to play in front of others? Or wary that they would pay for lessons and then not like it? Or thought they didn’t have enough musical background?
Dr. Nan Richerson can help.
Through PRESTO, the Preparatory School of Music at Salisbury University, Richerson is teaching a group piano class: PRESTO Plus – Piano for Pleasure. This class is open to SU faculty, staff, students, and members of the Salisbury community.
“Piano for Pleasure” is a beginner group class for adults who want to learn to play without the pressure they may feel in individual lessons. Classes are offered at SU in weekly one-hour sessions: 7:00 p.m. Mondays, January 28-March 4, not including February 18. The class will take place in SU’s digital group piano lab (Fulton Hall Room 234). This setting allows students to hear only the instructor’s piano and their own, fostering a relaxed and stress-free learning environment.
Not sure if the class with be a good fit for you, but still want to try it? Register online and then wait to pay until after you experience the first class. No background in music is required. Owning a piano is not necessary to enroll, as all participants can practice on SU’s campus.
