Delmarva Public Radio Earns $1,000 Giving Tuesday Award
SALISBURY, MD---Delmarva Public Radio (DPR) recently earned a $1,000 award from the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore as part of the foundation’s (CFES’s) “The Shore Gives More” Giving Tuesday campaign.
The prize recognized the stations for receiving the most donations between 7 and 8 a.m. out of all non-profits participating in the initiative. Comprised of WSCL 89.5 FM and WSDL 90.7 FM, the Salisbury University-owned public radio group earned more than $3,000 via 57 donor gifts throughout the day.
With the CFES award, the stations raised more than $6,000 through the campaign, including a $2,000 matching gift in memory of public radio supporter Theodore Pawlik of Middlesex Beach, DE.
In all, more than 100 Delmarva Peninsula non-profits received over 2,200 donations on Giving Tuesday, totaling more than $218,000 through the CFES initiative.
