60th Biannual Senior Art Exhibition
SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University art majors showcase their works during SU’s 60th biannual Senior Art Exhibition, “Retrospect.”
The two-part event opens with a display by fine arts students April 19-May 7 at SU Art Galleries Downtown (SUAGD). An awards reception is 5-7 p.m. Friday, April 26.
The second part of the show, featuring works by graphic design students, is April 29-May 17 in the University Gallery in Fulton Hall. An awards reception is 5-7 p.m. Friday, May 10.
As seniors, the students reflect on their SU art experience. After graduating, many of the students represented in the exhibits plan to enter careers including interior design, illustration, animation, graphic design, advertising, photography, education and art therapy, among others.
The displays are part of the Senior Exhibition course. The goal of the class is to summarize the students’ art experiences at SU by having them lead the planning and execution of a professional art exhibit.
At the shows, each student uses a portion of the galleries to display their work, which is based on their specific art track and encompasses an overarching theme of their choice.
SUAGD hours are noon-6 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, noon-4 p.m. Friday-Saturday. University Gallery hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Thursday, noon-4 p.m. Friday-Saturday.
Sponsored by the Art Department and Charles R. and Martha N. Fulton School of Liberal Arts, admission is free and the public is invited.
