SU Among Maryland's Top Universities for Graduating Young Physicists
SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University is among the top universities in Maryland for graduating young physicists.
According to data from the American Institute of Physics, SU graduated the second- highest number of recipients of bachelor’s degrees in physics in 2018, graduating 27 in the field. SU has been among the top five in this category for four consecutive years.
“It’s exciting for SU to be recognized as a top producer of young physicists in the state,” said Dr. Michael Scott, dean of SU’s Richard A. Henson School of Science and Technology. “This achievement is a testament to our dedicated faculty and students and our commitment to enhancing science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) opportunities.”
By number of graduates, SU topped other campuses on the list including John Hopkins and Towson universities; the University of Maryland, Baltimore County; and the U.S. Naval Academy.
