Perdue School Hosts Brown Bag Lunch Seminar Series
SALISBURY, MD---Dr. Yixiao (Ethan) Jiang, assistant professor of economics at Christopher Newport University, inaugurates this spring’s Franklin P. Perdue School of Business Brown Bag Lunch Seminar series Friday, February 14, at Salisbury University.
All presentations begin at noon in Perdue Hall Room 249.
Jiang discusses his paper “Decomposing Income Equality in the U.S., 1962-2018.” Examining the data through the lenses of gender, race, education, occupation and industry, his research determined that educational attainment was the single factor accounting for a growing percentage of inequality during that time period, arguing against other perceived explanations such as import competition and technological obsolescence.
Upcoming series topics and presenters include:
Friday, April 10: “Corporate Social Responsibility: How Can We Use MSCI-ESG (KLD) Data in Our Research?” with Dr. Sue Cooper, SU assistant professor of accounting and legal studies
Friday, May 8: Drs. Jill Caviglia-Harris, SU professor of economics and finance and environmental studies, and Ning Li, assistant professor of economics and finance (topics TBA)
Sponsored by the Perdue School, admission is free and the public is invited. Pizza and drinks are provided. Those planning to attend are asked to RSVP to Jodie Gallons.
