Palmer Earns Service Member Patriot Award

Tammy Palmer, communications supervisor with the SU Police Department (SUPD), earned the U.S. Department of Defense Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Service Member Patriot Award. She was nominated for the honor by SU alumnus Dakota Duncan, whom she supervised as a student dispatcher.

The Patriot Award reflects efforts made to support U.S. Army National Guard and Reserve members, including flexible scheduling, time off prior to and after deployment and granting leaves of absence if needed. Palmer helped make accommodations for Duncan to complete his service while working with the SUPD.
