SU Celebrates Faculty, Staff Successes
SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University celebrates the following recent faculty and staff successes:
Pagano Selected for NACADA Certificate of Merit
Maura Pagano, academic advisor for the Franklin P. Perdue School of Business in SU’s Academic Advising Center, has been selected as a National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) Certificate of Merit for Excellence in Advising – New Advisor recipient. She will receive the award during NACADA’s Region 2 conference in Norfolk, VA, in April.
Palmer Earns Service Member Patriot Award
Tammy Palmer, communications supervisor with the SU Police Department (SUPD), earned the U.S. Department of Defense Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Service Member Patriot Award. She was nominated for the honor by SU alumnus Dakota Duncan, whom she supervised as a student dispatcher.
The Patriot Award reflects efforts made to support U.S. Army National Guard and Reserve members, including flexible scheduling, time off prior to and after deployment and granting leaves of absence if needed. Palmer helped make accommodations for Duncan to complete his service while working with the SUPD.
Saltzberg Receives Broadway World Regional Directing Award
Matt Saltzberg, assistant professor in SU’s Bobbi Biron Theatre Program in the Music, Theatre and Dance Department, earned a Broadway World St. Louis Regional Award for Best Direction of a Drama.
The accolade honored Saltzberg for his direction of Thornton Wilder’s Our Town at the Ozark Actors Theatre in Rolla, MO, last summer. The production also received the publication’s award for Best Drama, as well as several acting and design honors.
