ShoreCorps Members Leave Their Marks with Non-Profit Banners
SALISBURY, MD---Members of the ShoreCorps AmeriCorps program at Salisbury University often leave their marks on the organizations where they serve through the program.
This year’s members will leave behind a physical legacy that can benefit those non-profit partners for years to come, after working with SU’s Publications Office to create tabletop banners for the organizations.
Each full and part-time ShoreCorps member takes a class designed for their unique training needs. When spring classes were moved to a virtual format, the courses were adjusted, allowing the students to work on the banner projects remotely.
Members created content for the banners, designed and printed by and SU’s publications office. The eye-catching promotional materials will allow the organizations to share information with the public at outreach events.
Through partnerships with area agencies serving at-risk youth and other vulnerable populations, ShoreCorps fulfills its mission of strengthening the capacity of community organizations, improving the lives of vulnerable populations, and fostering civic engagement through service and volunteerism.
ShoreCorps partners with non-profit or government agencies on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, primarily in Wicomico County, including Salisbury Zoological Park, the Nanticoke Watershed Alliance, Habitat for Humanity and others.
