SU Celebrates Earth Week April 19-23
SALISBURY, MD---The Salisbury University Student Government Association (SGA), Sustainability Office and Environmental Student Association celebrate Earth Week with events on campus from noon-3 p.m. Monday-Friday, April 19-23 in Red Square.
Monday, April 19, the focus is on waste: Students may learn about ways to reduce their waste, and learn how to get involved with the Environmental Student’s Association.
On Tuesday, April 20, students and guests have the opportunity to pot flowers and talk to the SU Garden Club.
Students may attend a presentation from the Salisbury Zoo on Wednesday, April 21 from 12 p.m.-1 p.m., and get the chance to see live animals.
Thursday, April 22, participants may receive an environmental justice pamphlet, learn about the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and meet Citizens Climate Lobby, a climate advocacy organization.
The SGA’s semi-annual Recycle Madness event returns Friday, April 23. Student organizations compete to see which can bring in the most recyclables by weight. The top three organizations will receive prizes.
