Important COVID-19 Information for SU Employees
Tuesday April 27, 2021
Dear SU Faculty and Staff,
As Salisbury University continues its COVID-19 precautions, please note the following:
- On Friday, the University System of Maryland (USM) announced that COVID-19 vaccines will be required for students and employees at all USM institutions, including SU, for the fall semester.
- Maryland college and university students will be given priority for vaccination at mass vaccination sites throughout the state.
- Priority days at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center are April 29-May 5.
- To schedule an appointment, visit https://massvax.maryland.gov and use code 24011 when prompted to enter a ZIP code.
- You will be required to show your Gull Card upon arrival at the Civic Center.
- To ensure full vaccination (both doses of the two-dose vaccines or a single dose of the one-dose vaccine, plus two weeks following the final dose) by move-in week in August, employees should set a target date of Tuesday, July 6, or sooner for receiving their first dose of the vaccine.
- Walk-up and scheduled COVID-19 vaccination appointments remain available in Salisbury through the Maryland Department of Health and the Wicomico County Health Department.
- To allow SU to receive notification of vaccination, employees must fill out the SU COVID-19 Information Consent Form. If SU is unable to access an employee’s vaccination information, that employee will be required to receive an SU-administered COVID-19 test twice weekly this fall to maintain access to campus buildings and classrooms (instead of once every 30 days).
- Starting the week of May 17, employees and students on campus will be required to receive an SU-administered test every 14 days to maintain access to campus buildings, classrooms and offices. Beginning that week, testing will be offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays only. Sign up now!
Please stay safe, and thank you for continuing to do your part to #ProtectTheFlock.
