SU Theatre Presents 'Fun Home' March 9-12
SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University’s Bobbi Biron Theatre Program presents Fun Home Thursday-Sunday, March 9-12, in the Black Box Theatre of Fulton Hall.
Directed by Matt Saltzberg, curtain is 7:30 p.m., 2 p.m. Sunday.
The Tony Award-winning musical is based on lesbian cartoonist Alison Bechdel’s award-winning autobiographical graphic novel. Alison struggles to make sense of her relationship with her father, a closeted gay man. As she watches his self-loathing consume him, Alison recognizes her own experience of discovering, and ultimately embracing, her identity. Fun Home explores the haunting pull of memory and the power it has to shape us into who we are.
The production is for mature audiences, as it features mature themes and language, and the depiction of suicide.
The cast includes Daelyn Funk as Alison; Allison Dincau as medium Alison; Camille Jones as small Alison; Spencer Tilghman at Bruce; Sophia Merbaum as Helen; Bryce Young as Christian; Grey Reynolds as John; Matt Banister as Roy, Mark, Pete, Bobby and Jeremy; and Sierra Wakefield as Joan.
Music director is William Folger, scenic designer is John Raley, costume designer is Leslie Yarmo and technical director is Michael Desper. Grace Quade stage manages, Alwick Blouch is assistant stage manager and Andrea Sicolo is assistant scenic designer. Tasha Hawkins is dramaturg, Chelsea Pace is intimacy choreographer, J. Mitchell Cronin is lighting designer and Justin Schmitz is sound designer.
