SU hosts 'Music of Asia' with Pianist Hugh Sung February 19
SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University hosts “Music of Asia: Blossoms from the East” with guest pianist Hugh Sung 3 and 5 p.m. Sunday, February 19 in the Great Hall of Holloway Hall.
The performance features numerous styles of Asian music, demonstrating its aesthetic principles and how it differs from the Western European tonal system.
SU students features in the program are Molly Fullerton, Gabriella Cox and Geneque Garrison.
Hugh has been hailed as one of the finest collaborative pianists of his generation, having performed and recorded with the likes of violinists Aaron Rosand, Hilary Hahn and Leila Josefowicz; flutists Julius Baker, Jeffrey Khaner, Jasmine Choi, and Gary Schocker; and composers Jennifer Higdon, Robert Maggio, and Harold Boatrite.Admission is free and the public is invited. Tickets are required. Tickets are available through SU’s online box office at www.salisbury.edu/performingarts. Patrons are asked to park in Camden Lot F (Blackwell Hall).
