SU Hosts 68th Biannual Senior Art Exhibition April 17-May 13
SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University graduating art majors display their work during the 68th biannual Senior Art Exhibition, “Elevator Daze,” April 17-May 13 at SU Art Galleries (SUAG) Downtown and the Fulton Hall Gallery.
A fine arts awards reception is 5-7 p.m. Friday, April 21. A graphic design awards reception is 5-7 p.m. Friday, April 28.
Senior Exhibition, a course taught by Professor Jinchul Kim, aims to summarize students' art experiences at Salisbury University by having them lead planning and execution of a professional art exhibition.
“Elevator Daze” is meant to capture the students’ feeling of liminality. Currently in a state of flux, the unknown awaits the students as Commencement approaches. It is a moment of anticipation but also a transition of great excitement accompanied by a sense of edginess.
For the 21 artists exhibiting at the show, these are their “elevator daze.” As they actively take the ride to their next adventure, each floor in between brings new experiences, inspirations and passions for their artwork. While future floors remain undiscovered, each stop is an opportunity for growth and change.
Works include photography, painting, drawing, graphic design, new media, sculpture and ceramics.
Admission is free and the public is invited. Light refreshments will be served at each reception.
