Weather Advisories Issued for Much of Maryland, Virginia January 6
SALISBURY, MD---The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued weather advisories for much of Maryland and Virginia on Saturday, January 6, as a result of Winter Storm Ember.
In Wicomico County, up to 1.25 inches of rain are forecast throughout the day, with heavy rain possibly leading to localized flooding issues.
For those traveling, winter storm warnings, watches and advisories have been issued for much of the Virginia Piedmont, stretching east and west into portions of Maryland and West Virginia. Accumulations of snow, sleet and ice are expected in these areas, beginning Saturday morning and tapering off into the evening. Drivers are encouraged to use extra caution.
