SALISBURY, MD---Nine Salisbury University community members have been named Fulbright Student semifinalists for the 2026-27 program.

The Fulbright is America’s flagship international exchange program, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.

SU’s semifinalists include students from each of SU’s endowed schools and the College of Health and Human Services.

“These students come from a great variety of backgrounds and worked extremely hard on their applications this year,” said Dr. Kristen Walton, director of SU’s Nationally Competitive Fellowships Office. “They were supported by a large number of faculty and staff, including a long list who helped with our interview process. Several alums joined in to help, as well.”

One graduate student and six seniors are being considered for English Teaching Assistantships: Hailey Ader, an M.S. in mathematics education (middle school) student from Califon, NJ, to Kosovo; Owen Beabout, a Spanish and computer science major from Gaithersburg, MD, to Spain; Camila Esquivel-Goelkel, a Spanish and international studies major from Montgomery Village, MD, to Spain; Patrick Gibbons, an international business, marketing, and management major from Bowie, MD, to Timor-Leste; Logan Lankford, a health science major from Westover, MD, to Bulgaria; Claire Morin, an elementary education major from Kensington, MD, to North Macedonia; and Charles Reigle, a history major from Pasadena, MD, to Slovakia.

One alumna and one senior are up for academic study and research awards: Madysen Eutsler ’17 from Salisbury, to the UK; and Neila Henrice, a nursing major from Salisbury, to Hungary.

More than 100 SU students have won national and international fellowships, scholarships and awards in the past decade, including 41 Fulbright students. SU students or alumni who are interested in applying for national fellowships may contact Walton at for assistance.
