Students Assist SU Neighbors During 'The Big Event'
By SU Public Relations
SALISBURY, MD---More than 200 Salisbury University students recently spent their Saturday raking leaves and performing other light yardwork for University neighbors during the SU Student Government Association's annual "The Big Event" community cleanup day.
Students also volunteered with local organizations, including Chesapeake Housing Mission, through which they built a residential wheelchair ramp for a local community member, and Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County.
The event took place on the final day of the SU Centennial Week of Service, during which SU community members, including alumni, pledged to volunteer as part of the University's 100th anniversary celebration.
