Extreme Heat Warning Issued for Salisbury and Surrounding Areas July 4
SALISBURY, MD---The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Heat Warning for the Salisbury area though 8 p.m. Saturday, July 4. Forecast temperatures are expected to top 100°F, with heat index values as high as 110°F. Thunderstorms are possible in the evening.
Students, faculty, staff, and visitors are urged to take precautions:
- Limit outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day.
- Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated.
- Take frequent breaks in air-conditioned environments.
- Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing.
- Check on coworkers, classmates, family members, and vulnerable individuals.
- Never leave children or pets in unattended vehicles.
Anyone experiencing dizziness, nausea, confusion, or other signs of heat-related illness should seek medical attention immediately.
