SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University’s Asian and Pacific Islander Club (APIC) presents a performance by musician Magdalen Hsu-Li and her stage partner, Greane, 7 p.m. Thursday, March 12, in Holloway Hall Auditorium.
The event includes a dialogue about identity, racism, bisexual, Asian-American and feminist issues, interspersed between songs and reflected in many of Hsu-Li’s lyrics.
She explores cultural identity through her personal story about being an “out” Asian-American woman growing up in the rural South. There, she faced obstacles including racism, stereotyping, homophobia, biphobia within the LGBTQ community and prejudice against her Tourette’s Syndrome.
Admission is $5. SU ID holders receive one ticket free. Tickets are available at the Information Desk of the Guerrieri University Center until one hour before the show.
