SALISBURY, MD---William Willis and Anne Binkley of Salisbury University’s Music, Theatre and Dance Department present the faculty voice recital “Night and Dreaming” 7 p.m. Friday, February 26, in the Great Hall of Holloway Hall.

Featured are works by Mozart, Schubert, Faure, Vaughn-Williams, Wagner, Wolf, Bellini and Bernstein, among others.

Willis is no stranger to the SU stage. Earning his B.A. in vocal performance at Salisbury, he portrayed the Sorcerer in the University’s inaugural opera workshop, Henry Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, in 2008. Earning his M.M. in vocal performance at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, he has since performed in operas including Die Fledermaus, The Medium, and Amahl and the Night Visitors, as well as performances of Handel’s Messiah and Bach’s Magnificat.

Soprano Binkley has performed solos, oratorios and opera roles with the Lancaster Opera Company and Lancaster Symphony Chorus in Pennsylvania, and the Salisbury Chorale. She also placed in the top five in South Carolina at the 1996 Metropolitan Opera National Council auditions. Her favorite roles include Marguerite in Gounod’s Faust and Miss Silverpeal in Mozart’s The Impresario. Holding music degrees from Marantha Baptist University and Bob Jones University, she has taught music for nearly two decades.
