Candidates' Debate to be Held at SU April 23
SALISBURY, MD -- A candidates' debate for the offices of mayor and city council for Salisbury will be held on Tuesday, April 23, from 6:30-9 p.m. in the Wicomico Room of the Guerrieri University Center at Salisbury University.
The debate will be conducted by the Tri-County League of Women Voters and is sponsored by SU's Institute for Public Affairs and Civic Engagement (PACE), and the Daily Times of Salisbury. An hour-long district candidates' debate will be followed by an hour-long mayoral candidates' debate.
In the mayoral debate are challenger Duke Shannahan and incumbent Mayor Barrie Parsons Tilghman.
"Two of the five council seats will be filled in this election. One race is in District 1 and the candidates are incumbent Lavonzella Siggers and David S. Wright. The other race is in District 2 and the candidates are Michael H. Day and Frank Himelright".
