SALISBURY, MD---The Lower Shore Child Care Resource Center at Salisbury University is supporting local troops through Operation Child Care, a service to support the National Guard and reserve soldiers of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom home on leave. The center seeks licensed childcare providers to help donate four our more hours to the families of the soldiers during their short stays home. Services being in mid-spring and continue until the soldiers all return from overseas. Operation Child Care is part of a program started by the National Association of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies so that soldiers can have time to be with their spouses or to take care of personal business during their time off from duty. “Childcare providers can show their support for this cause by volunteering their time,” said Karen Goldman, center director.
The center also offers free referrals for parents in need of full- or part-time childcare. For more information call the center at 410-543-6650.
