Dance Company Sponsors Salsa Class Wednesday, April 7

SALISBURY, MD---Baltimore disc jockey Tony “El Hijo de Cocqui” Nardolillo instructs a salsa dance master class from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, in the Great Hall of Holloway Hall. Nardolillo grew up with the sounds of salseros and studied with internationally recognized salsa teachers Victor Hugo Maysonette and Cecilia Villalobos. His professional credits in the United States and Puerto Rico include Trabuco and the Salsafuego Dance Company. The salsa, a Latin and Afro-Caribbean social dance originating in Cuba and Puerto Rico, is performed to music featuring multiple breaks, percussions, swing and energy. Participants learn basic salsa dance steps and variations, basic spins and the importance of timing, style and attitude. Comfortable shoes or rubber-soled sneakers should be worn.
