Environmental Students Association Hosts Earth Day Panel Wednesday, April 20

SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University’s Environmental Students Association hosts the Earth Day panel discussion “Think Globally, Act Locally” at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, in Henson Science Hall Room 243.

Panelists include Tom Horton of SU’s Environmental Studies Program, Dr. Joan Maloof of SU’s Biological Sciences Department and Matt Heim of the Lower Eastern Shore Sustainable Organic Network (LESSON). They speak on the state of the environment, sustainability and action that can be taken locally to better the planet.

A native of Maryland’s Eastern Shore, Horton is the author of seven books about the Chesapeake Bay and covered the environment for the Baltimore Sun for 35 years. Maloof is the author of books including Teaching the Trees and the upcoming Among the Ancients: Adventures in the Eastern Old-Growth Forests. Heim is the project manager for LESSON, a non-profit organization committed to supporting a safe and sustainable food system for the Delmarva Peninsula.
