Field Trips Exposed Students to Career Options
SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University’s Career Services recently sponsored a number of events exposing students to a variety of career options.
Over 100 students attended an FBI presentation on Wednesday, October 17, in the Scarborough Leadership House. Special agent Linda Harrison discussed career options and internships with the FBI and explained the hectic nature of her job following the tragedy of September 11.
Also on that day, Career Services took students on a “Career Field Trip” to Cambridge International Inc. in Cambridge, MD. Students took a tour of this major wirebelt manufacturing firm and talked to Mike Elzey, human resource director, about career options at the company. Cambridge International employs numerous SU graduates.
On Wednesday, October 24, 30 students traveled to the Georgetown University Job Fair. They had access to over 100 employers with whom they networked and made job/internship contacts. Ian Moers, an SU alum that works in the MBNA Career Center at Georgetown, brought the event to Career Services attention.
