Guitar in the Gallery Series Continues with Vendim Thaqi February 24

SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University’s Guitar in the Gallery series resumes 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 24, in the University Gallery of Fulton Hall with guitarist Vendim Thaqi.

The Kosovo-born guitarist studied at Germany’s famed Aachen Academy of Music, the only guitarist in his year to successfully audition into the prestigious school. As a student, Vendim performed solo classical guitar in over 40 concerts, with an additional 30-plus performances featuring voice and other instruments.

With a repertoire ranging from classical to metal to funk, he also is the guitarist for the Belgian-German rock band Autumn Colours, which released its first album, Where Is My Home, in 2014.

Thaqi is the first musician to come to Salisbury through the Young Artist in Residence program, sponsored by the Music Department and Center for International Education. The program brings gifted international musicians to the university to work with SU students in a cultural and musical exchange.
