Hanna Scholars Intern for Maryland Legislators

SU interns for the Maryland General Assembly

Salisbury, MD---Five Salisbury University students are working as legislative interns in the Maryland General Assembly, thanks in part to the Henry H. “Buddy” Hanna Memorial Award.

Established by Henry H. Hanna III and his wife, Dara, the scholarship is designed to help students develop their passion for government, politics and community affairs.  It is named in honor of Hanna’s father, a longtime Eastern Shore legislator.

SU interns for Maryland General AssemblyThis year’s five recipients are: senior Scott Moore of Faulkner, MD, who is working for Delegate Sally Jameson; senior Robert Sheehan of Delmar, who is working for Delegate Norman Conway; junior Drew Tokosch of Arnold, MD, who is working for Delegate Emmett C. Burns Jr; senior Andrew Tress of Bel Air, MD, who is working for Delegate Anne R. Kaiser; and senior Daniel Wheeler of Easton, who is working for Senator Karen Montgomery.  All are political science majors.

The Hannas hoped the scholarship would help students from Salisbury and the Eastern Shore who face additional travel or living expenses while working in the state capital.  The scholarship ranges from $500 to $2,000 and is available to SU juniors and seniors who are working as legislative interns and have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
