Honoring Harriet Tubman

Years before the new $20 bill with Harriet Tubman on its face was announced, Salisbury University created a commemorative sculpture of the famed abolitionist. The larger-than-life bronze, believed to be the first three-dimensional likeness honoring Tubman on her native Eastern Shore, was unveiled in 2009.
