'I Am Fine' Exhibit Raises Awareness of Health Disorders Mar. 4
SALISBURY, MD---Works by Salisbury University senior art and conflict analysis and dispute resolution major Martina Maya-Callen of Laurel, MD, are displayed during the exhibit “I Am Fine” at Gallery 303, 303 W. College Ave.
An opening reception is 1-3 p.m. Sunday, March 4.
Through the display, held during International Eating Disorder Awareness Week, Maya-Callen hopes to raise awareness of mental and physical health disorders. She also spotlights the mental chaos individuals may experience while striving for unrealistic standards promoted by the beauty and marketing industries.
Maya-Callen is an Undergraduate Research Fellow through SU’s Office of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity, which sponsors the exhibit.
The gallery also will be open from noon-2 p.m. Monday-Tuesday, March 5-6 and 1-3 p.m. Thursday, March 8. Admission is free and the public is invited. For more information call 410-546-1674 or visit the SU website at www.salisbury.edu.
