LSCCRC Helps Bundles of Joy Earn State Accreditation

SALISBURY, MD---Bundles of Joy Learning Center in Salisbury has successfully completed the state accreditation process thanks in part to the Lower Shore Child Care Resource Center (LSCCRC) at Salisbury University.

The LSCCRC received a grant two years ago from the Maryland State Department of Education to assist the learning center with the state accreditation process.

“We need to understand that today’s child care program goes far beyond just watching our kids. They should be providing a safe, nurturing and educational setting,” said Karen Goldman-Karten, LSCCRC executive director.

“The accreditation process is not easy. When a program commits to completing this, it shows that this center understands the importance of quality child care. During the past two years, the teachers at Bundles of Joy have worked hard to make the changes needed to reach the high standards set by the State Department of Education.”

The LSCCRC assists local child care providers with continued training and assistance. The center also works with parents in the community, helping them find quality child care. For more information call 410-543-6650.
