class=""MsoNormal"">SALISBURY, MD---Maryland Lieutenant Governor Michael Steele speaks on politics and state affairs 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 5, in the Worcester Room of the Commons at Salisbury University.
class=""MsoNormal"">Involved in politics for many years, Steele was elected chair of the Maryland State Republican Party in 2000. In addition to his duties as lieutenant governor, Steele also serves as a member of the Executive Committee of the Republican National Committee and has been mentioned as a possible U.S. Senate candidate in 2006. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Johns Hopkins University in international relations in 1981 and his law degree from Georgetown University in 1991.
