LoVid Presents 'Tephra Garden' Exhibit November 14-February 11

Tephra GardenSALISBURY, MD---Immersive video installations and textile sculptures by artists Tali Hinkis and Kyle Lapidus, collectively known as LoVid, come together during the exhibition “Tephra Garden.”

The exhibit is displayed November 14-February 11 at Salisbury University’s Electronic Gallery, Conway Hall Room 128. An artist talk and reception is 5:30 p.m. Monday, November 14, in Conway Hall Room 153.

Featured in the exhibition is “Ruby Rendering,” a multichannel installation of noisy, colorful audiovisual collages celebrating the tactility and materiality of technology. “Video Taxidermy,” a series of textile sculptures designed from those images, juxtaposes crisp digital printing with rough stitching to translate and embody video signals.

LoVid has performed and presented at New York venues including the Museum of Modern Art, Museum of the Moving Images and The Kitchen. The duo’s installations have been included in exhibitions worldwide, including the Siskel Theater in Chicago, Netherlands Media Art Institute, Ireland Science Gallery, and Science Museum Jerusalem.
