Miles Stevenson History Prize Awarded to Two SU Students

SALISBURY, MD -- Two Salisbury University students, one from Carroll County and the other from Wicomico, are winners of the Spring 2002 Miles Stevenson History Prize, awarded by the University's Edward H. Nabb Research Center for Delmarva History and Culture.

Donnie Meyd, son of David and Eleanor Meyd of Hampstead, MD, focused his research on early Somerset County resident Richard Holland. Meyd is a senior history major.

Stacy Godfrey, daughter of Brad and Ann Godfrey of Hebron, MD, researched 17th century Somerset County resident Jane Elzey. Stacy attended Parkside High School and is currently an SU sophomore majoring in history and secondary education.

Established by Marelyn Zipser in honor of Roger Atwood Miles and Arintha May Stevenson, the Miles Stevenson Prize is awarded in the fall and spring semesters for outstanding historical research in Delmarva history.
